Spc # With Mastercard

The Doctor is still a child

land on Skara for the first time.

Needless to describe the emotion I felt and see how it all started, when was the first time that the Doctor has had to deal with some of its most common enemies.

The story is titled "The Daleks' note and has seven chapters:

- The dead planet

- ; The survivors

- The escape

- ; The ambush

- The expedition

- The ordeal

- The rescue

This story already appeared to me very different than the first . Here the actors seem to make decisions that collide with what will be the modus operandi of the Doctor in the future.

In "Time Crash" (the special episode of 2007 when the Tenth Doctor meets the Fifth), the Doctor explains to her "I" preceding the beginning of its history was "just old and cranky how are the children and then began to change after being reborn in the fifth he was young, agile and cheerful. "

This sentence made me think just this first episode where the Doctor looks like a child for beginners: a few comments ago, seem to know what others, is curious but not more than Ian, which appear to be his first trip and his first attempts to explore the world.

Another phrase that the Tenth Doctor and said that struck me was referred to the Master and the fact that he, looking into the vortex of time, has gone crazy, while some others are inspired and flee in terror. The Tenth claims to be one of those who fled, says, "All my life running away."

Here, it seems to me that this old but you are limiting young doctor to do that. He escaped from Gallifrey, but is not so anxious to know and learn with, and maybe even too cautious, and very often hardly needs in resolving problems.

Despite this impression that I have a spectator, Ian says "We better keep an eye on HIM. He Seems To Have Himself a knack of getting into trouble. "

And that says it is still without a clue to what is right and what was to become the Doctor in the future.

Skara captain landed on just a couple of crazy things. First, Susan and Ian tear a flower, the only thing surviving on a planet apparently dead, having argued that, in fact, was the only living thing, and not a civil right behavior, then all return to the Tardis because it is now risky exploration and Susan is that Ian and Barbara did not want further.

The Doctor is left to threaten Ian and agrees to go on board.

the first doctor did not give any where and went to discover the new world. He, though not to go alone (perhaps aware of the limited strength of his body) and in order to avoid having issues, devise stratagems rather absurd (just as a child) to induce others to do what he wants.

You see a lot more rooms of the TARDIS than we see today. And we see a machine that says the Doctor, create food. It seems a sort of Willy Wonka in which the machinery to certain commands differently for different types of food, according to Ian and Barbara delicious.

The Doctor and Susan eats without offering gives him a dirty look on a par with those rude Rose throws the Tenth Doctor. In this, the Time Lord does not seem to be improved much.

Ian asks how everything works and the Doctor, it seems incredible, answers, where today simply would simply say "You would not understand." And best of all Ian is not that he understands, but wants to know anyway.

Then, to be able to explore the desert city on the planet, the Doctor sabotages the TARDIS and tells others to do it again we must look for mercury in the city and therefore we need to go for a ride on the planet.

Why take this stupid trick when he could just make the despot (which he does quite well) and forcing the others?

Why is a young doctor, do not want questions, do not want to fight and fear of not being able to win a battle, giving its its motivations, uses the only possibility of abuse that they must be the only one who can pilot the Tardis and bring everyone home. A fight with Ian would have lost, it is more convenient to corner this way.

exploring the deserted city happens another absurdity: separate to explore in less time.

Given the fear of Barbara and Ian to the strange and unfamiliar world view and that of Susan is convinced that they are not alone it seems foolish to separate and stand alone.

Research of mercury are beautiful, then, Ian looks for opening and moving random things as if the mercury was in the street around it.

When things get serious and that Barbara is kidnapped by the Daleks, the situation worsened.

The Doctor must confess the deception operated to the detriment of his companions, pecking the insults of the nephew, and in an attempt to escape as quickly as possible from the threat represented by Barbara Daleks want to leave here and escape with the others.

That's another thing that the new Doctor would not do, rather than left behind a comrade die, but, again, this is a doctor who has just started getting involved with human beings, who may still not find them so interesting to risk their skin to save them.

Ian so it takes up (as was his father) and tells him that it was time to assume its responsibility: he brought them there, he must bring them back.

I wonder if Ian has no idea how important it was for the Doctor, who knows if the Doctor still remembers him, because his way of relating to him, in my opinion, certainly helped him to become the creature it is today.

The Daleks are now identical in appearance and manner of expression.

The very thing that differentiates them from today is just not hitting always and only to kill, shoot to Ian immobilizing only the legs and I do not think this a function of the Daleks' weapons that are still using today.

Today Daleks kill and nothing else, the command "Exterminate!" Is for those who are not Daleks and dare them spoke in the wheels.

In this episode, however, often killing is not the first thing that comes to mind, even if their racism interstellar is already rooted and their beliefs are, broadly speaking, the same as today.

But they, too, now, are an extinct race, then I think the different ways of acting are also dictated by this, the last of the Time Lord tries to help and make the universe a safer place, while the last of the Daleks what will? Will try to exterminate all creatures to the last, because all the others are not Daleks, not bat an eyelid.

Barbara is the first to suggest that the Daleks nell'involucro metal there is actually a living organism. And Susan laughs in the face for this account.

And once again the assumption is made by human, not the Doctor.

My idea is that since the film a great means of communicating ideas, fashions and costumes in which a film or television is turned, in this first episode we see just the majority view that there was a time for the human mind in general. The alien is not the only one to know what's outside the Earth, but also the human culture (in this case the professor) whose curiosity is unbounded and helpful.

The difference with the new episodes is that in most cases today, humans are the cause of unimaginable disaster, as is Torchwood, and as often as human curiosity does not lead to anything good.

Another interesting aspect is the well-known influence on all the doctor right away. Ian and Barbara, too, suffer it, in fact, despite being angry with the Time Lord that brought them away from home, despite the misleading of failure of the Tardis and despite all the evidence of selfishness and lack of affection for Ian, in particular, is very protective with the Doctor. When it is dealing with being sick because of radiation and has a bit of Skara 'the same function as the Doctor himself today with his teammates. That's why I feel strongly the influence of Ian on the Time Lord, it seems that the young doctor had a kind of imprinting with Ian who taught part of the behaviors that will in the future.

I know that probably was not the intention of the writers, but it's so nice to reconstruct the life of the Doctor starting from so far away ...

The Tardis was much better protection at the time. The locking mechanism could not be opened with one key, but was also used in the right way. Visa to give you the key in the future Rose the Doctor would have to leave the mechanism as it was.

addition to the Daleks also Thals know, race that shares the planet with the Daleks and, like them, survived the war that has been there.

Thals The Daleks do not like, they are called "mutations" (this of course does Thals very similar to human beings, as one of Thals "If we call a mutation Daleks, who knows what they are), and would like to get rid of them by any means possible. Thals instead I am the complete opposite of the Daleks: pacifists are in soul and are not racist. They would like to join the Daleks because they consider them an intelligent race, capable of great inventions.

Even on this occasion the four protagonists are being held and plan to escape is engineered by Ian and Barbara that most of the other two.

The plan is stupid and set up the cock, the fact is that it works because the Dalek being duped not shoot randomly trying to kill everyone as he would today, so the four can jump behind it and lock it. Even the Doctor and Ian opened the Dalek, off their "pilot" and Ian slips inside to maneuver.

Ian is really brave, it's almost inexplicable that one is always in his trench and always for the protection of his comrades. Other relevant with the Doctor today.

Thals The fact that they are so devoted to peace by nature also makes them infinitely more gullible of their enemies: whoever does not have a mind predisposed to hatred identifies much more difficult those who have bad intentions.

The Daleks, in fact, manage to ambush the Thals with ease.

These are presented to show the Daleks did not know all creatures. One of

Thals it says "They'll see that I'm unarmed, there's no better argument Against War Than That" and we know what it is absurd to think of a Dalek.

Wisest his companion replied, "Yes, If They really want to listen."

The ambush

to Thals has the effect hoped for, in fact, manage to kill some of the Daleks, thanks also to Ian that we do not know why they should feel instead expects the Daleks open fire before shouting "' It's an ambush! "

It seems that the scene is a nice incorrect installation or registration, do not know. The fact is that one looks and asks "What the fuck is waiting, Ian, who kill them?"

In fact, a couple of them die.

From here on, the four forces and players will spend time to convince Thals to declare war on the Daleks, hoping to awaken a part of the population against ruthless enemies and the other to help him recover the piece of the Doctor's Tardis stupidly brought back and ended up losing. Avventatissima thing that would never do today, carrying a piece needed to start the Tardis and jealously guard it is not just from him.

want to make this a peaceful people into warriors is antithetical to the concept of not interfering with local affairs. The point is that there is already felt the need to get rid of the Daleks, as seen minister of death without conscience or mercy.

The logic of the Daleks voted for the war is perfect in its cruelty. A Dalek

Thals referring to states "It is logical That together They will attack us."

For them, the logic is that, while in the meantime Thals are absolutely firm on their decision not to attack anyone.

That the Daleks is the same logic used when the Ninth Doctor and Rose will tell them that will save them all and destroy them with the answer "But you do not have defenses, does not have weapons, you do not have a plan ... "

For them it is absurd to think the thought of not as a function of the attack to the next.

The Doctor, Barbara and Susan are in favor of the action by Thals, while Ian is not.

Once again it is on a distinguished professor with a PhD and then assume that the behavior: the war never, never guns.

Here the first doctor is torn between the desire to move "We need action not arguments," and the need to use your head to solve problems.

In all this there is a funny scene where the Doctor is mistaken and that the name of Ian complains. Poor memory of the Doctor knows something Mickey.

are very interesting even the long grueling scenes, those same scenes in a show today that would not take a few seconds.

We have a long discussion of ethics in which the fight would be absurd to argue that Thals, which would destroy the beautiful planet full of useful inventions that have now.

Eventually convinced to fight in the most obvious possibility, suggested by Ian. The man who proves to Thals to threaten a loved (he threatened a woman in the group) triggers the need to protect it and then you can fight.

Thals I decide to leave the action, while the Daleks discuss with each other. The most beautiful of their sentences, and the most comprehensive about their beliefs, is "We must adapt to the environment, we must change the environment so that it is suitable for us."

Even the action scenes are very long.

There is a large assembly, then The scenes are all filmed from beginning to end. Made a descent with a rope is taken as a whole, for each individual, a leap to go from one side of a cliff, the other takes several minutes of episode ... All without a soundtrack.

can be annoying for those used today to another kind of action, but if you look through the eyes of a time that is the impression of living in the middle of the scene, with pathos, difficulties and fear experienced by the protagonists themselves.

Towards the end, in a very complicated, look for the Doctor to sell the Tardis to save himself. Encourages the Daleks, telling them that it is a time machine that he can use to help them leave the planet.

can be seen as yet another trick of the Doctor, but I think that doctor there, so young, inexperienced and just launched into space is truly trying to trade the Tardis with his freedom, without calculating the hazard make known to the creatures of a time machine.

The final fight is still on the anthology. It would have to watch just because they could no longer be a fight like that with the Daleks today.

I Thals and our players jumping over the Daleks grasping appendages with which they launch deadly rays. The Daleks do not respond with fire randomly killing whoever happens, but rather stir worried and do not understand anything. A grappling with metal creatures and culminating in the absolute supremacy of men in a finale of desolation, silence and Daleks spilled on the ground lifeless.

I am reminded of the phrase of the Tenth "They always survive while I lose everything" and there is no better stage than this to understand it. Nothing suggests the possibility that one day return. Yet happen and will also be pretty pissed.

Even the Daleks have evolved (or convoluted) in the series, just as the Doctor. Also changed as a result of this episode: first talk more, now limited to giving orders and kill.

Well, anyhow, still there will be betting with them, including the saga of the Time War.

The final departure scene with the Doctor that runs around the controls of the Tardis pressing random keys is so familiar that seems to turn yesterday. In this case resembles Matt Smith and his way of making the Doctor today. Watching old episodes is helping me to appreciate a bit 'more.
