Does Patrick Ewing Travel

Prime

William Hartnell (1908 - 1975)

It was the first Doctor, from 1963 to 1966 for 119 episodes (29 stories, 3 seasons and the fourth).

The first episode of season one is "An unearthly child" and consists of 4 parts

- An unearthly child

- The cave of skulls

- ; The forest of fear

- The firemaker

know the first doctor does not upset too much; this series is the longest in history, but the differences with the most recent data are few, thanks to the skill of the authors, thanks to good actors who are gradually changing data over the years and thank you, why not? the passion that some of them have developed not only in acting in general, but also in creating this character that has entered history.

The first Doctor is asshole, obnoxious, selfish, does not show affection to anyone, maybe just a minimum for Susan, her niece, but in his own way.

His earliest companions, besides her granddaughter, are Ian and Barbara, Susan teachers who find themselves in spite of themselves inside the Tardis and catapulted back in time with the Doctor.

The two actors are very good, even, in certain scenes, even the most credible of the companions of the new series. This is because, unlike the recent companions, Ian and Barbara who seem desperate to travel to the idea in space and time. When found in prehistoric times and discover that the Doctor can really take a walk through time, both are wondering when and if they can return home, they are fearful, suspicious and certainly not very eager to learn the new world.

But the Doctor is the Doctor and his passion and curiosity prompt the others at least have a look around.

I must say that this first version of the Doctor seems a little awkward, unwilling to throw himself headlong adventure and very circumspect. Based only on the series and the character I can explain it to me and told me that, finding himself in the body of an elderly man, The Doctor can not objectively be the adventurer who was to become over time.

The scenes are quite bloody and considering them in terms of year when the first episode of Doctor aired also very accurate.

The sentence then becomes the applicant in today's Doctor "I'm sorry" we feel it already come out from the lips of the first Doctor.

It seems strange, but despite being considered from the outset the group leader (Ian says it clearly) did not in fact the first appearance of the leader: does not take decisions firmly, so it's always hesitant to do, know little or nothing of what is happening around them, is scolded by his companions, the orders are given, faces threats ...

Susan studied on Earth, then we face also a doctor for most of the time living in a permanent position on our planet, and travels only occasionally, as opposed to the Doctor today that never stops. This may explain why the characteristic of omniscience is not present in this first version of the Time Lords. Both the Ninth

the Tenth Doctor always know on what planet (although maybe they got there by chance) understand What happens in a few seconds and everything has an explanation for their precise and quick insight. This Doctor often says "I do not know" and in most cases is found spurred by poor Ian to look at this or that.

In the first story at some point the group was taken prisoner and all are bound and thrown into a quarry. The Doctor does not even attempt to escape, which is very unlikely to face the Doctor today. This lets you make to Ian who has just found a whole new world and certainly, despite being a teacher, has no knowledge of the Doctor.

In addition, the Doctor inciting a lynching when the group of primitives will get a fight, one of today would never do such a thing.

If I think of the new series we often heard to say (or was told) that it was not a nice person in the past, and actually understand why.

But I find this first story in an issue that certainly still exists in the series, but it is not so nice.

The Doctor observes, does not interfere. The Doctor studying, learning, watching and enjoying the chance to observe events in the past and future worlds out by human understanding, but you never put in context. Most of the action scenes, control, implementation of plans are performed by others, not himself as we see today do.

Today, the most common phrase of the Doctor who dusts off his best aspect of this silent observer is "Run!" A useful way to not interfere. Rather than run away, if they are in danger, but not attack, I do not meddle. I say reintroduce this aspect because we know that this is not so, and despite the Doctor get away often, he is always in action, always ready to put into practice some brilliant idea and, often, perhaps without intending to interfere.

The first is almost helpless as his companions, in the first story there is not a final fight with the villain: the four enact a theater to scare the primitives and then just run away. Tardis escaped to take refuge inside it, we do not see a story in which the passage of the Doctor somehow improves the lives of those he met there and we see only a story, a place that he visited the Doctor, and then we see him escape.

I really like this aspect, I must say.

And then the Doctor can not use the Tardis and this thing reminds me of a phrase in response to the question of the Tenth Martha "You had to pass a test to fly this thing?"

"Yes, and I failed. "

Well it is true, because the first does not know anything or how it operates, nor where it will end up landing. Improve over time, but until Tennant will still be a large margin of error in the decision is the date on which it will turn out, is the chosen site. And more to blame dl Doctor that the Tardis, often. Apparently

River Song knows better guide the Tardis the Doctor himself. But we are still light years away from her, so ... Cute

the fact that every story ends already making us see the opening of the next, so you leave the pre-history to land on Skara for what will be the first great episode dedicated to the planet of the Daleks and then the creatures that will forever be the sworn enemies of the Doctor. But before you get out of the Tardis Doctor invites everyone to wash, not that you think that travelers in time and space are the zozzone.
