Stomach Sitting On People

Thoughts

Tonight I did not sleep much.

Gianluca is already asleep, so deeply that I will not wake him.

used the time to put on paper some thoughts that I went through in those days.

'm always fascinated by other cultures.

This happened in England.

I try to grasp the nuances positive (though often the beginning everything looks super ok, maybe because there is a charm again!).

The first day, when we arrived, I was worried about finding housing. From Italy we had only booked the flight and the car ...

Then, a little 'costs (we say that the guest houses are not exactly cheap!). But then all went to offset, for example and I were amazed Gianluca cost of food. Ok, it is not our kitchen, but with a few pounds there are gouged out, especially at lunch (sandwiches, roasts, fish and chips).

Before leaving I was a bit 'worried about the weather and temperatures.

But then we were lucky we did not run into heavy downpours, but light rain, another for passing. Also I have to say that the climate is drier, there is not much humidity, and once it stops raining, it dries in a flash ... At least ... this season! :)

One thing that wowed me was the sky and green grass.

I would spend hours walking with his eyes turned upward, especially in Yorkshire and Northumber land. The clouds so soft, close together, passing as if they were coming from the scene, and create shadows on the valleys. The pure white that sets them apart when the sky turns a blue so bright ...

and the meadows are colored with a green that seems unnatural, as it is perfect in its tone.

I've always loved nature so as it is, especially when it is free from human artifice.

Many times, I thought that I have not fully enjoyed this beauty, perhaps because he was distracted by many other small areas in which we are increasingly accustomed to not seeing the little things that hide a pure wealth, unparalleled.

sympathy even the sheep are separated in different flocks, which often bleat, chasing up and down the hills.

reach almost strange not to hear the gulls, because the ear quickly becomes accustomed to their voices.

See in the North Sea, a water "colder" than the Mediterranean.

A lot not just to be associated with a seaside resort, but a sort of continuation of the landscape that accompanies it.

People are rather like a fan, and with all its nuances.

Some really "friendly, gentle, ready to give advice. Other nervous, careless, hasty and susceptible.

sure I understand why you associate or Spaniards or Italians, for the accent and cadence, as well as a bit ' for the appearance (but often is not the first thing you notice).

Well, one thing that I regret, is the image we give of our country through the restaurants.

Gianluca and I have noticed in the menus of pizza / Italian restaurants of the dishes that do not exist (!) In our kitchen.

In a club there was even the right names. For example: instead of all'amatriciana PASTA, PASTA Matriciana had written.

The most scandalous case are also the ingredients: garlic and mushrooms anywhere, dish (and not quite so in the true Italian cuisine), and instead of tomato sauce for example, ketchup ... Help!

An English gentleman, speaking of this and that said that while the British eat to live, we live to eat Italian.

Ok, may also be true for us, food is a cult, but part of our history, our culture, how can the love of art in all its forms, for refined objects, etc..

It 's really sad to see use the image of our kitchen with foods that have names and ingredients wrong run by people of completely different ethnic group.

not know how to protect our well made in Italy!

for today I will stop here. Heck, I began to speak of Italy: it will be because the holiday is over now ...

SCARBOROUGH YORK

Here we are in Scarborough. English summer destination, always on the east coast.

is very different from York.

But in a tour, of course the scenery is constantly changing and sometimes abruptly.

looks a lot more to our Adriatic coast.

full of local entertainment, slot machines, a box office selling fish and chips, candies, ...

Here we are in a romantic attic: Crossways Guest House.

An old Victorian house arranged to welcome visitors like us.

It would be nice to live in a house like this!

I really love the city of York.

Of the people I have come across even if for brief moments of kindness with which they gave information, the quietness of the streets, the same scenery that attracts and welcomes you in his arms. Bye bye

York. See you soon!

YORK

And from Manchester, via, change of course. New goal: York.

you in mind when the English say "lovely"?!

Well, this adjective is very well suited to this small town.

Tutt or is fit for man: the buildings are not too high, the streets are filled with bakeries, small shops, pubs, tea rooms ...

Noteworthy is the York Minster: also a landmark for orient:).

The beautiful park, where the urge to throw a starfish on the lawn.

And then the old walls that "dif Endon" the city, and the bridges that cross the river to get to the city center.

Several students, tourists coming to visit the city, but people always "well distributed", there is a particular traffico.
